M4 GTS F82
The BMW M4 GTS is an extreme, limited-production variant of the F82 M4 produced for the 2016 model year with only 700 units built worldwide (300 for North America). The M4 GTS features a water injection-equipped version of the S55 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six producing 493 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, representing a significant 68 horsepower increase over the standard M4. The water injection system sprays a fine water mist into the intake manifold, cooling intake charge temperatures to allow more aggressive ignition timing and boost pressure, improving power while reducing knock tendency.
Weighing 3,329 pounds (approximately 200 pounds lighter than standard M4), the GTS achieves 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds through comprehensive weight reduction including carbon fiber hood with NACA ducts, roof, rear wing, front splitter, and side mirrors, lightweight OLED taillights, polycarbonate rear window, titanium exhaust, and deletion of rear seats. The GTS includes adjustable coilover suspension, forged 19/20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, 6-piston front brake calipers, and extensive aerodynamic enhancements generating significant downforce. The interior features acid-orange roll cage, racing bucket seats, and Alcantara throughout. The M4 GTS set a 7:28 Nürburgring lap time, making it the fastest production BMW at the time. With pricing near $135,000 and extremely limited production, the M4 GTS has become a collectible modern BMW M car, representing the pinnacle of F82 M4 development with track-focused engineering rarely seen in road-legal BMWs.
