Trackday 20 in the G87 and actually only the second time I've done the full THill West CCW (I've done 2 Thill 5 miles and one West CW). West is like an "oversized autocross circuit" and this is really where I was constantly reminded of the G87's 3800 lbs. This is also the first time at THill West on the new setup (Verus Engineering front and side spiltters, UCW wing, M2 CS Tune, JB4 Map 1, VTForged SL-A.3 SuperLites with Conti ECF 295/30/19 square setup, Gyrodisc front rotors, and Pagid RSL29 pads) and probably the biggest improvements for West is the wider 295s square setup, the 3.5 deg of front neg camber, and RSL29s. Although on this tight track with the heavy weight, the Conti ECF's we're sliding around a lot and I never really felt comfortable with them on this day. There's a few times the car got pretty squirrelly and I actually went fully off in T7. On pads, actually the RSL29s are a downgrade from when I was here last in May when I ran EBC RP-X. RP-X's have significantly more bite and stopping power, but the RSL29s have been through 4 track days and still have probably 4 more until I think I need to replace them. With the RP-X's I had them for 3 track days and am debating if they have 1 more track day.
Last time at THill West my best was 1.28.7. With this setup, I'm doing consistently mid-high 1.26 to low-mid 1.27s. with theoretical bests in the mid 1.24 range. My PB was 1.26.2. Traffic is also an issue on this short track which also got in the way of more clean laps. I'm at the point with SpeedSF that I'll have to move up to the gold group but today I was in Yellow with my son. I finally got the AIM Solo 2 and wow once everything is setup, capturing the telemetry is so easy now compared to the iphone+TrackAddict+GPS+
ODBII setup I have been running. Throttle and brake pressure metrics are nice to have.
M2 CS Tune: The less intrusive MDM definitely is allowing more slip. There are a few times it got a bit slippy like at 2.05
Great weekend overall and thanks to@speedsftrackevents8380 for another great event
