Circuit de Bresse
Circuit de Bresse Notes:
The Circuit de Bresse is a 1.86-mile (2.99-km) racetrack located in Fronteanud, France, an hour and a half north of Lyon. The raceway is part of a motorsports complex constructed in 2006, including a karting track and a driver training/testing center devoted to providing awareness about road safety and defensive driving for motor enthusiasts. The Circuit de Bresse serves as the venue for several local racing and motorcycling series. The variable weather of the Burgundy region changes according to the season, with cold winter, warm summers, and 100 rainy days a year on average, which means the track conditions can change at any moment, even on a single day.
The 15-turn layout of the Circuit de Bresse has every feature of a highly technical racetrack, with decent elevation changes, tight-angle corners, long straights, and fast-paced sweeping turns. Races start/finish at the middle of the front straightaway, where high-performance vehicles get to 180 km/h (111 mph) before hitting the first braking spot at turn one. By the second corner, the speed comes down to 60 km/h (37 mph) to favor control on this tight multi-apex turn. The fast-paced turn three leads into the fastest straight, where racers develop 200 km/h (124 mph). Turn five marks the start of the higher technical section of the track, with ten snaking turns constantly changing directions and swinging between vertical variations and off-camber stretches. Taking laps on the Circuit de Bresse is an energizing experience worth a try for every motorsports fan looking for a place to enjoy speed.
