GT R Pro
The Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro is the most extreme street-legal variant of the AMG GT platform, introduced for 2020 as a limited-production model incorporating lessons learned from GT3 and GT4 racing programs. The GT R Pro features AMG's hand-built 4.0-liter M178 twin-turbocharged V8 producing 577 horsepower at 6,250 rpm and 516 lb-ft of torque from 1,900-5,500 rpm, identical to the standard GT R but with extensively revised chassis and aerodynamics optimized for track performance. Power is delivered through AMG's 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with multiple shift programs including a Race mode for maximum performance.
The Pro distinguishes itself through race-derived adjustable coilover suspension with helper springs (replacing standard GT R adaptive dampers), adjustable anti-roll bars front and rear, additional front splitter with adjustable carbon fiber "flics," larger fixed rear wing with manually adjustable angle, lightweight forged wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, lightweight carbon fiber components, roll cage, four-point harnesses, and fire extinguisher. Weight reduction measures save approximately 100 pounds versus standard GT R, with dry weight around 3,500 pounds. The GT R Pro targets serious track-day enthusiasts seeking ultimate AMG GT performance with setup adjustability rarely offered in production cars. Limited production and track-focused specification position the GT R Pro as the most collectible modern AMG GT variant, offering near-race-car performance with street legality and the cachet of AMG's most extreme engineering applied to their flagship sports car platform.
