Back at Chuckwalla just a couple weeks later! Only one change this time: rear sway bar moved to the stiffest OEM hole to tame mid-corner understeer.
Weather and surface were great, and telemetry from last time suggested a sub-1:58 was on the table.
Biggest challenge: front tires. Shoulders were beat up from prior track days ran on low-camber, which caused blistering and accelerated wear. I had only a few safe laps left in them.
Session 2 was again the time to push. Dropped pace lap after lap and set a new PB: 1:57.798 (Lap 3) - about 0.48s quicker than before.
The lap wasn’t perfect, but I’ll take it given the tire condition.
I can’t wait for the next outing, I'm sure there’s more time to find, especially on fresh rubber.
