07 LMP2
The Oreca 07 LMP2, introduced in 2017, represents purpose-built Le Mans Prototype 2 race car featuring Gibson GK428 naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 engine arranged in 90-degree bank configuration producing 600 horsepower (450 kW) in ELMS competition and 560 horsepower in WEC following 2020 power reduction accompanying Le Mans Hypercar regulations introduction. The mid-mounted engine connects to six-speed sequential gearbox in carbon fiber and honeycomb monocoque chassis weighing 930 kg (2,050 pounds) per LMP2 regulations. Double-wishbone suspension with pushrod-style adjustable dampers from PKM Consulting provides precise handling, while racing slicks measure 30-68/R18 front and 31-71/R18 rear on 18-inch diameter wheels. The 07 utilizes much of predecessor 05 model monocoque construction demonstrating evolutionary development.
