1.23.03 new personal best at Thunderhill West in the F80.
First time running a brand new set of RE71RS on this car. They felt great with all the low end torque. Did a few 1.23.0x laps across the day. Could not squeeze into the 22's. :( Can't complain. Dropped my PB by roughly a second. Old PB was on a fresh set of Conti ECF enduro tires. (1.23.92). Optimal from today was a 1.21.88. Although, I think that would be pretty tough to achieve. Not impossible tho.
Reaaaally wanted that 1.22 but the first session was riddled with slow/unaware cars. Joe kicked a few of them out of red the next session, haaa. It was better the rest of the day, but you can't replicate the temps from that early session. Also lost .1 skidding out of the last corner. Basically, blew it there.
Having not driven the F80 on track in 6 months. Lots of little mistakes throughout this lap and the day. Corner to corner, lap to lap. I was trying stuff out all over.
Area for improvement on this lap:
T1 Exit: Carry more speed in.
Dorito: Didnt have the best entry this lap. Unsettled the car more than normal.
T4: Good rotation but I overdid the throttle application a hair. Causing too much slip and some loss
T6: Staying in 4th is the ideal thing here. This lap I did 3rd for whatever reason.
T8: G-meter saying there is more grip available here. Can push a tad harder.
T10: Blew the 1.22 skidding out. Dont do that.
