Took the daily/new i20N to Wakefield Park on 12/03/22 for its first track day and my first track experience in a FWD ever. It was a bit of a learning curve in the morning trying to adjust my driving style and line selection from years of RWD but i got the hang of it after a couple sessions. Unfortunately by this point it was too hot and the overall times weren't there.
Set up was something i was playing around with too and i got the car to rotate much better as the day progressed. The factory supplied psi specs are completely wrong imo and the rear requires much more psi or a smaller tyre to help it rotate through the corners.
This 1:11.21 lap was done in session two as i was still coming to terms with how to drive a FWD, an average car set up and hotter temperatures. In the afternoon sessions the i20N would do mid to low 1:11.xx laps with ease. Not too shabby for an all OEM factory hatch.
I will head back soon and have the car set up for session 1 when its cool and a 1:10.xx lap will be achievable.
