Rudskogen
Rudskogen Notes:
Rudskogen Motorsenter is Norway's oldest asphalt race circuit and serves as the country's national motorsport center. The facility opened on May 20, 1990, in the Østfold region of southern Norway, set in rolling forest terrain. The original circuit was completely redesigned by renowned track architect Hermann Tilke, with work beginning in 2011 and completing in 2012, creating a modern facility that meets international standards.
The main track measures 3.254 kilometers (2.022 miles) in length with 14 turns, a 640-meter (2,100-foot) longest straight, and an elevation difference of 42 meters (138 feet). The track is considered technically demanding for drivers due to its undulating forest terrain. The facility also includes a 1.2-kilometer karting circuit built to the highest international standards. Rudskogen is famous for hosting the Gatebil Festival and has set impressive lap records, with Marc Gené holding an unofficial lap record of 1:09.507 set in a Ferrari F10 during a 2013 demonstration event. The circuit's combination of technical challenges and scenic forest setting makes it a unique motorsport venue in Scandinavia.
