Saturday feature race. I didn't get a great start and ended up behind a slower out of class driver (with a car with a motor!), which resulted in getting gapped off the fight for a podiumin my class. I was frustrated to have an in class car on my rear bumper and an out of class car on my front bumper that was actively blocking me from clearing him. But, in all fairness I believe he is not used to multi-class racing. Regardless, Peter (3rd in CM) was consistently a second faster than me, anyway; so not sure the result would have changed. 5th overall and 4th in class.
PB for me was on lap 10 where I took a little bit of a compromised line into the bus-stop, completely blew turn 8 (the heel) which put me defending and taking a compromised line into turn 9. (not sure I needed to defend there). So, I left a 1:59 out there on the track, settling for a 2:00.66.
Most importantly, it was a great weekend with a great group of people. My wife Kim joined me for her first race weekend ever! So, was a real win for me, in the end. Thanks for Autosport Fab for the support, the car ran great. Thanks to all the people at BMW CCA Club Racing that make this all possible.
