Group: Red
Tires: RE-71RS (days 4 and 5, ~11-15 HCs, started at about 2-3/32" left)
Weather: Awesome

Setup changes/maintenance:
- Race Louvers fender vents (F30/F80)
- Verus turbo heat shield
- new ignition coils and spark plugs (41k miles - they were still okay but definitely not early)
- swapped to cleaner air intake filter

It's been a very long time since I've done a wet Sonoma or with tires on their way out. I consider this track to be the best test for both driver and car, so I always plan around days here to make sure I can do my best. This time around, conditions were super bad and my tires were dying. I spent 99% of my track time being uncomfortable and on edge. This will give me the confidence to push even harder on a good day. The weather did improve on Sunday, and our very last session was damp with misty rain so I was able to go faster.

I had anticipated most of the sketchy spots before the weekend based on track layout, usual throttle and steering input levels, elevation changes, compression zones, etc. What I didn't see coming though was T7 being a problem. There seems to be drastically different grip levels while on the drag strip and going into the braking zone, which caused my rears to spin quite easily under power. The braking zone is also really messed up. My theory is that the entire track width is fully rubbered in since it's the hardest and longest braking zone in the track, and also a common passing zone. Pools of water on fully rubbered track = super slick.

I added some math channels to the AIM, specifically brake bias, total brake pressure since I was only using the fronts, and some wheel speed stuff. The total brake pressure is buggy and reporting data even though there's nothing, so I'll have to fix it (notice weird ramp up of braking while still on throttle). I'll figure out how to use brake bias and wheel speed later.

Missed the first session of each day due to instructor duties, and a couple Saturday sessions were very short because of on track incidents. We also lost a session on Sunday due to a medical emergency in the paddock (odd), so track time wasn't much, but it was more than enough in these conditions. Always fun to spend the weekend with the track fam. I'll be at east in a couple weeks with fresh V730s. I'll have a passenger that weekend, so it'll be a good day to learn a new compound since I'll drive much more disciplined and smart (probably).

Saturday
1:17 a sign of things to come... learned quickly to get rid of all steering input around here
4:20 not the line I should be taking lol (took me a while to learn)
9:53 got frustrated at the blue pcar causing a train - kinda hard to make off line passes in the wet so they needed to use that damn turn signal
26:35 tried a tighter T6 line = no good haha
27:03 Edson almost lost it at T7 under braking (slow the video down and look at my passenger side mirror lmao)
29:10 @EdgarLauRacing in a WRX showing me a line
34:08 @TrackandBuild flying in his F22
39:00 caught up to the three musketeers and tried to join in on their shenanigans lmao then put down my fastest lap on Saturday (2'22 but who actually cares)
42:54 scary? yeah

Sunday
50:35 chasing KP for a bit
1:00:00 T7 exit rumble strip still no good
1:02:05 I ain't no drifter
1:05:00 keep it steady
1:06:36 just because Edson can use the curb doesn't mean I can
1:07:17 1 of 2 2'06 laps before conditions got much better
1:10:39 stop it lmao
1:11:28 2nd 2'06 lap with a funny start
1:14:09 limit testing
1:14:35 limit testing...?
1:18:47 nothing but drama
1:20:17 sub 2 finally, let's keep testing each corner
1:22:21 tried and failed to stay flat along the front straight lol
1:24:48 tested T3a exit curb and listen to that wheel spin
1:30:55 I don't remember the last time I lapped cars in red group hm
1:31:49 T10 is just not giving me the pace
1:35:25 finally used a lot of curb in the esses
1:35:55 last and fastest lap of the weekend (1'55)
1:37:35 I braved T10's rumble strip on entry
