Hooked on Driving
Laguna Seca
11/9/2020
My second track day ever. Novice group, with lead-follow instructor (Covid).
Pace became quicker as the day went on. Had a great instructor David (BMW Z coupe), shared with another ND driver Neal. We both progressed from A Novice to A Solo by end of day.
By last session #5, I was able to start free of traffic and squeeze in three laps in the 1:57s. Felt quick, but watching the videos I can see a great deal of time I left on the table. Objective of the last session is make it home in one piece though. :)
My car:
2019 MX-5 (30th Anniversary Edition) mostly stock
Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires (stock size)
GWR Race Exhaust
Fabworx ND RZ roll bar.
Telemetry/overlays courtesy of RaceChronoPro. Still dialing in brake & throttle signals from OBD II, I think throttle was clipping and brake reading is low.
Apologies about horrible audio crackle, I have a good external mic, but I have something I need to fix with my GoPro setup. It was not always this way.
