Watkins Glen 3.45 mile Grand Prix Circuit with Inner Loop (Bus Stop) and The Boot
Harry's Lap Timer with 10Hz GPS showed 2:06.99 for this lap.
My first time (third day) driving at Watkins Glen. It is an incredible track! Definitely worth the visit even though it is over 1,500 miles away from home! The steep uphill esses are epic and the radius of some corners is so big that you are back to full throttle before you can even see the exit of the corner which is a wild feeling!
Thanks to the local BMW Club for letting me sign up for this event the day before since I only found out about it while I was packing up after the previous day's Chin event! I highly recommend their events; it was open track all day with less than 50 cars total. Unfortunately I had to work remotely for most of the day but I was able to fit in around an hour total of driving on track throughout the day.
Thanks to @ckeels724 for your videos (especially this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cRNryC4iSA). They were very helpful to memorize the track beforehand and to use for comparisons with my own PDR videos.
I think there is a little more lap time to be had in the bus stop but the 4th curb feels harsh on the car when you're on throttle going over it. I was very happy with this lap and opted to make it my last after seeing the lap time. I was just trying to match my previous best of 2:07.57 set shortly before this after noticing that I forgot to start the PDR for that lap.
2017 Camaro SS 1LE. Unmodified engine using PTM Sport 2, stock Goodyear Supercar 3 (220 treadwear) tires, track alignment (camber: -2.2° front, -1.8° rear, toe: +0.05° front on each side, some toe in for the rears), SPL Rear Toe Links with Eccentric Lockout, BMR BK063 Rear Diff Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit, FEA front lower front control arms from ZL1 1LE (since stock fluid filled bushings leaked), 2021 SS 1LE ABS control module (EBCM) to get better ice mode calibration (found on 2019+ SS 1LEs) which prevents intermittent hard brake pedal and reduced stopping force in bumpy braking zones, Castrol SRF DOT 4 brake fluid, stock Brembo (Ferodo HP1000/1) brake pads, GM plastic track brake cooling deflectors, smaller GM metal brake dust / splash shields, Ikon Motorsports 2019+ stock style 3 piece front splitter. The car is in track mode with touring steering mode and track exhaust mode. Ambient temperature was only 52°F, 39% humidity, wind 8-15mph from NNE gusting to 20mph, sunny. Great conditions for fast laps!
