The McLaren 650S GT3, introduced for 2015 racing season, represents customer GT3 racing variant of 650S road car featuring detuned 3.8-liter M838T twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing approximately 493-500 horsepower complying with FIA Balance of Performance regulations, representing unique turbocharged competitor in GT3 category dominated by naturally aspirated engines. Carbon MonoCell chassis carried from road car provides exceptional rigidity while upgraded six-speed Ricardo sequential gearbox replaces road car seven-speed for weight savings and race-specific gearing. Track width increases 52mm with revised suspension geometry and upgraded components optimizing circuit performance. All-new lightweight carbon fiber bodywork includes aggressive front splitter, larger air intakes, fixed carbon fiber rear wing, and reprofiled cooling intakes managing airflow and downforce.
