Driver: Gabriel Estrada Jr #74 - 1996 Spec Miata

Prior to the weekend I had goals of going sub 1:39s with some uncertainty, because it has been a few years since I've last raced at Big Willow. Leading up to the race, I qualified P10 of 15 with a personal best of 1:38.1.

Well during the race I managed to put it together mentally, took calculated risks and with a good setup on the car, I crushed my weekend goals twice and managed to lay down several 1:37s at race pace. I managed to reduce our average lap split from the front runners, less than 2.5sec, normally 4-5secs.

Otherwise, I felt like I had an amazing start to the race and managed to hang with the front pack, all 10 cars battling for a few laps as we pulled away from the remaining back. Slowly but surely the front pack started to pull away. At least for the first 7 laps, I raced my hardest, like never before, trying to hold where I can and reel in those in front. Then about half way through I figured I wasn't able to make up anymore positions, so I tailored back my pace in order to help save tire for the follow race the next day

I hope you enjoy this race. Like and Subscribe.
