1999 BMW E36 M3 2580 lbs with fuel and driver. Stock S52, no aero, narrow body and 245/40/17 Hoosier A7 (1st event). Set the new B2 class record and discovered my new favorite track! First time bringing my car out to Sonoma and it was absolutely incredible. Spent all Saturday exploring different lines, evaluating which corners to sacrifice and which to prioritize. Made a few suspension adjustments that seemed to help settle the car a little better mid day. In addition, gained a ton of track knowledge after a lengthy conversation with Paul Whiting at the end of the day which helped immensely. Threw on a fresh set of sticky bois in preparation for a 1-2 lap effort first thing Sunday morning and everything came together with a relatively easy lap where I didn’t push too hard and kept it pretty clean. Of course there is always more time on the table but after seeing my time on the first hawt lap attempt Sunday morning, I made the decision to not get greedy with a second attempt at a 44 and backed off in turn 1 so I could take my car home in one piece at a track that literally eats one car every hour on the hour. Couldn’t be more excited about how the weekend went and a huge thank you to everyone that helped me out!
