Transilvania Motor Ring
Transilvania Motor Ring Anmerkungen:
Transilvania Motor Ring is the largest racing venue in Romania, located 20 kilometers southwest of Târgu Mureș in the historical region of Transylvania. The circuit measures 3.708 kilometers (2.304 miles) and is largely flat, featuring modern amenities including a race building with 11 double garages, offices for race officials and teams, a medical center, media facilities, and a restaurant.
The project was first announced in 2006, with construction beginning in 2011. Under the leadership of Emőke Lokodi, the County Council officially started working on the racetrack project, keeping in mind the mid- and long-term benefits of having a permanent race circuit in Transylvania. The construction phase experienced significant delays and disputes, which pushed the completion date to 2018, when the circuit finally inaugurated in November with a full calendar of events planned for the following year. The extended construction period had consequences - the delays meant that the standards the track was designed to had been tightened further across the intervening decade, and the circuit has yet to receive international homologation for motorcycle racing. Despite these challenges, competition running finally began on four wheels, with the circuit included on the schedule of the Romanian Endurance Season from 2021 onwards, establishing itself as an important motorsport venue in Eastern Europe.
