V710

The Kumho Ecsta V710 is a DOT-legal competition tire engineered to deliver maximum dry track performance for autocross, time attack, and road racing applications. This tire represents Kumho's highest performance offering for competitive motorsport events, incorporating racing-grade compound technology and aggressive tread design to provide grip levels approaching full racing slicks while maintaining minimal DOT-required tread pattern for legal certification. The V710 has established itself as a proven winner in SCCA road racing and autocross events throughout North America, earning certification for use in all SCCA showroom stock classes where race compound DOT tires are permitted. The tire features minimal tread grooving with just two circumferential grooves molded at 4/32 inch depth, maximizing contact patch area while maintaining sufficient water evacuation capability for emergency wet surface operation.

The Kumho Ecsta V710 utilizes robust internal construction featuring two steel belts reinforced with dual nylon cap plies, high-ply turn-up design, and additional nylon reinforcement layers to provide exceptional high-speed stability and structural integrity under extreme cornering loads. The asymmetric tread pattern incorporates racing slick surface characteristics with ARC compounding technology delivering superior mechanical grip for acceleration, braking, and cornering. Compared to Kumho's VictoRacer and earlier ECSTA V700 models, the V710 provides quicker turn-in response, increased traction, and higher cornering speeds, making it the preferred choice for serious competitors seeking maximum performance. The tire carries a UTQG rating of 30 C/A, reflecting its ultra-soft racing compound that prioritizes grip over longevity. Performance degrades noticeably after typical race weekend use as the soft compound reaches heat cycle limits, requiring fresh tires for sustained competitive performance. While technically DOT-certified, the V710 is not appropriate for highway or street use due to extremely limited treadwear expectations and performance characteristics optimized exclusively for competition conditions.
