This amateur racing driver has 20 recorded laps across 4 vehicles on LapMeta, averaging 5 laps per car—high concentration ratio indicating focused commitment to mastering 4 specific platforms. Over five laps per vehicle builds knowledge transcending typical driver-vehicle relationships, revealing nuances requiring extended exposure to discover.
The selective 4-vehicle portfolio suggests curated testing balancing comparative education against deep platform understanding. Each car received over five sessions revealing performance characteristics through sufficient exposure beyond initial familiarization. Track day participants achieving this concentration demonstrate commitment transcending casual participation, treating circuit time as deliberate education rather than recreational entertainment. With 20 laps concentrated across 4 vehicles averaging 5 laps each, this driver demonstrates focused approach combining meaningful platform development with manageable portfolio diversity supporting comprehensive vehicle dynamics understanding.
This was my first ‘Long’ track day in the C8. I don’t run this configuration very much – maybe 5 days in 3 years, so I’m slower than normal on it – lol.
Conditions: 92 degrees, moderate humidity, light winds.
Equipment of the day: Fresh set of Hoosier R7’s (275F/315R) on 18x10 and 18x12 Finspeeds. I tried to get a 3rd day out of my front G-Loc R12s, and that proved to be a big mistake. Very inconsistent braking after the first couple of laps of each session.. Very hot. I ended up packing it in after four sessions – I was really hot, the brakes were really hot and my laps weren’t getting any lower. :/
Outcome: Best lap was 1:48.71 in session 2 chasing a friend in his 488 Ferrari Challenge car.. I probably spent a couple too many laps chasing him in session 3 but doubt I would have bettered my best lap. I’ve previously run a 1:43.29 in my C7Z but the lack of downforce and relatively low horsepower of the C8 are more apparent on the long track than the competition course. I think the Porsche guys were running 44's in their 3RS’ which lines up with the C7’s times. I may run one more day this fall on the long track so we’ll see if I can get down into maybe the 46’s. Time will tell.
Running mod list: ‘WolfpaqC8’ is a 2022 C8 Corvette Z51 and has magnetic shocks/PTM. Mods from ‘Factory Stock’: Lowered ¾” front and back on Paragon collars, GM-spec track alignment, GM brake ducts (now removed) Girodisc rotors front/rear, G-Loc R12 track pads front/rear and SRF flush.
