PDR View @ Road America on 05/07/2023.
My C8's PDR uses an atypical start/stop location at Road America so I didn’t get to finish the last lap, which was near the Sargento Bridge.. I was pacing toward a 2:28.5X..oh well.. Best PDR segment lap was the previous 2:29.19.
This was my fourth track day at Road America. This was the last session of day two, saving best lap for last Lol.
Weather: Day 1 had rain for 2/3 of the day and I ran PS4S ZP's most of the day. Day 2 - Perfect - 75 degrees, low humidity and sunny after a wet start.
Track: NEW surface! Smooth! and a bit slick until completely dry.. Gone are the bumps from years past. Going to be awesome when it gets more rubber on it.. MVP was only the 2nd or 3rd big group at the track since resurfacing.
Car & Equipment: In this session, I'm on Hoosier R7’s on 18x10/18x12 Finspeeds. 275F/315R. The C8 is a phenomenal track car - fast, predictable and has a lot more than I can give it. In this session I ran in Track/Sport 1 which leaves stability control active. On day 1 in the rain, I ran in PTM 'Wet' Mode.. It was fun but not fast.. I'll post a 'rain session'.
‘WolfpaqC8’ is a 2022 C8 Corvette Z51 and has magnetic shocks/PTM. Mods from ‘Factory Stock’: Lowered ¾” front and back on Paragon collars, GM-spec track alignment, GM brake ducts (front), Girodisc rotors front/rear, G-Loc R12 track pads front/rear and SRF fluid.
Notes: I used-up the front pads today in four sessions.. **I burned up a complete set of R12's in 5 sessions, so it's time to try G-Loc R16’s to increase wear.. That said, the R12’s are very rotor friendly and offer great feel. Adios RA for now.. Hoping to be back in Fall again with MVP.
