The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII, produced from 2001 to 2003, introduced significant advancements over its predecessor, the Evo VI. Built on the larger and stiffer CT9A platform, it improved handling and stability while retaining the turbocharged 2.0-liter 4G63 engine. A newly developed active center differential (ACD) and a more advanced Super Active Yaw Control (S-AYC) system enhanced traction and cornering ability. The Evo VII also featured revised aerodynamics, a more aggressive front fascia, and a functional rear wing for increased downforce. Interior upgrades included sportier Recaro seats and a modernized dashboard layout. While slightly heavier than the Evo VI, the added technology made it a more capable performance machine, setting the stage for future Evolution models.
