997.2 Turbo
The Porsche 997.2 Turbo, introduced for 2010 model year as facelifted version of 997 Turbo, features enlarged 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine producing 493 horsepower representing significant increase over 997.1 predecessor. The Variable Turbine Geometry technology unique to Porsche in turbocharged production cars optimizes boost delivery across rev range. Transmission options include six-speed manual or advanced seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic replacing previous Tiptronic. Performance achieves 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.4 seconds with PDK and Sport Chrono Package Turbo with Launch Control, or 3.7 seconds with manual transmission, continuing to electronically limited top speed of 312 km/h (194 mph) with PDK and Sport Chrono. Optional Sport Chrono Package Turbo includes Overboost function increasing maximum torque by 50 Nm to 700 Nm (516 lb-ft).
The 997.2 generation introduced significant updates including revised styling with LED daytime running lights, updated interior with improved infotainment system, and mechanical refinements throughout.
