GT Mk2
The Ford GT Mk II, unveiled on July 4, 2019, represents the ultimate expression of Ford GT performance, co-developed by Ford Performance and Multimatic as a track-only supercar engineered independent of all race series rules and regulations. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 produces 700 horsepower at 6,350 rpm through extensive modifications including a high-flow exhaust with straight pipes, higher-spinning turbochargers, rooftop air intake, and innovative air-to-air outboard charge air coolers with automatic water spray technology for consistent power delivery. Paired with a specially-calibrated seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and weighing approximately 3,065 pounds after removing adjustable ride height and drive mode systems, the Mk II generates 50 more horsepower than the road car and 200 more than the regulation-restricted Le Mans race car.
Aerodynamic performance is extraordinary: fixed aero elements enable the Mk II to generate over 400% more downforce than the road-going Ford GT, producing 1,800-1,900 pounds of downforce at 150 mph (350 pounds more than the race car) and achieving over 2Gs of lateral grip. Equipment includes five-way adjustable Multimatic DSSV dampers, carbon ceramic brakes with 15.5-inch front and 14.1-inch rear Brembo components, forged aluminum 19-inch Forgeline wheels, and Michelin Pilot Sport GT racing tires. Hand-built by Multimatic in a limited production run of just 45 vehicles at an MSRP of .2 million, the GT Mk II represents the pinnacle of modern Ford Performance engineering, incorporating competitive learnings from FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship campaigns.
