Trackday 17 in the G87 and back at Laguna after a few months! This time I was with family so it was mostly getting laps in with passengers and with the new setup (Verus Engineering front and side spiltters, UCW wing, JB4 Map 1, VTForged SL-A.3 SuperLites with Conti ECF 295/30/19 square setup, Gyrodisc front rotors, and Pagid RSL29 pads). I had Session 2 with no passengers, but unfortunately between the black flag and traffic, I only had a couple of laps to shoot for PB and squeeze out a 1.41.9 but wasn't as focused as I couldve been. Still had a great time with family and on track chasing my son @jayden4chan11 in his Veloster N a few laps.
Of course, I brought warm weather with me. High of 87 and it felt hotter on track. Anyway, I'm coming back before end of year and in reviewing TrackAddict and Catalyst I think with no passengers I can get well into the 39's!
Notes:
- Braking is still a (skill) challenge for me. I went too hot into turns several times
- Not 100% sure I'm liking the RSL29s and how much bite I'm getting out of them. I guess trade off vs longevity.
- I'm learning to take a new line on turn 9. I've been coming into the turn staying to the left, but now taking the more popular line of staying to right and cuttting in later and I like how I'm not exiting the turn on such heavy load makes it easier to get better setup for 10.
Great weekend overall and thanks to @speedsftrackevents8380 for a great event!
