Finally made it back to Grattan! I've run here once before, all the way back in 2022, and every year since then I kept saying I needed to go back and just never managed to fit it into my schedule. Definitely one of the most unique tracks out there. Extremely fun, technical and physical.

The setup on the car hasn't changed too dramatically since I ran here last and I was on roughly comparable tires (Conti ECF this time vs Hankook RS4 last time, the ECF should be a hair faster but they're both firmly in the "endurance" category of 200tw). The main goal of this event was to shake down the new front swaybar, but I was obviously excited to see how much I had developed as a driver in the past 3 years as well. Taking 2 full seconds off of my PB definitely felt good!

This lap is far from optimized given how little time I have on this track. It was fun to be somewhere new for a change, trying different stuff here and there and getting the dopamine hits from those "aha!" moments. I'm frustrated that my fastest lap of the day had such a poor T3, but I think it's pretty decently driven overall. A couple laps later in the same session I had a lap that was 3 or 4 tenths up on this one, but I got way too greedy entering the esses and completely threw it away. I included that lap at the end, mostly just to show that I actually do know how to drive T3...

Still eager to spend more time here, as I feel this track still has a ton left to teach me. I feel like 26s should definitely be on the table with more familiarity, as I feel I was underdriving some of the faster braking zones. I felt I was continuing to improve in the afternoon but the surface on the back half of the track seemed to be falling off quite a bit.

It felt good to get the 86 back on track with how much the Fit has been monopolizing my time, but this car definitely needs some TLC before I do much more with it. The new swaybar endlinks were rubbing pretty bad on my control arms and the transmission is really unhappy in 3rd gear lately. Not a new development, but something that's definitely getting worse. Just gotta fix it and keep pushing!
