Joe McGuigan is an amateur racing driver with 66 recorded laps across 19 vehicles on LapMeta, averaging 3.5 laps per car. This balanced ratio suggests methodical track day participation where each platform receives meaningful attention while maintaining diversity enabling comparative understanding. Over three laps per vehicle allows progression beyond initial familiarization—first lap establishes basic characteristics, middle laps build confidence approaching limits, final laps reveal nuanced behaviors requiring extended exposure to discover.
His LapMeta data shows distributed testing with 15 laps at East 3 Mile w/ Bypass configuration, 11 laps at Current layout, and 10 laps at West circuit. The varied venue preference across three different configurations indicates systematic exploration methodology—testing vehicles across varying layouts to understand how platform characteristics respond to different circuit demands. This approach provides comprehensive education spanning both vehicle dynamics understanding and circuit-specific technique development. The 19-vehicle portfolio represents substantial automotive exposure providing comparative education across different engineering philosophies. With 66 laps across 19 vehicles at multiple configurations, Joe McGuigan demonstrates balanced approach valuing both comparative vehicle knowledge and diverse circuit experience supporting well-rounded track day participation and comprehensive performance driving education.
Once again California is blessed with another race track. Buttonwillow Raceway in Bakersfield,CA aka No Cal, added another track, dubbed The Circuit. What a treat this track is to drive. Lots of variety in corner type and some fun challenges.
This video is the car detuned and ballast added to make competition closer and also allowed me to test the car for its upcoming debut in sprint wheel to wheel racing with WTCC. The car has to be minimum 3180 with me in car after a 25-30min sprint race and I am not allowed to run my aero. This also requires I run my detuned map of 247whp vs its normal 340whp. It's like driving a diesel truck on track haha.
For those wondering why I am lifting in spots such as front straight, its because I am driving to max allowed time of 1.55.000 and don't want to risk a drive thru penalty. I had rolling laps in low 1.54s and optimal of 1.53, but alas that is bracket racing sometimes.
