Alastaro Racing Circuit - Pitkä
Alastaro Racing Circuit - Pitkä Note:
Alastaro Racing Circuit is situated in Virttaa village in Loimaa, Finland. The circuit's "Pitkä" (long) configuration represents a significant expansion completed in 2023, extending the track from its previous length of 2.721 kilometers (1.691 miles) to 4.317 kilometers (2.682 miles), making it one of Finland's longer permanent road courses. The extended track averages 12 meters in width and features protection areas spread widely, making it suitable for even demanding tests of heavy equipment.
The track can be divided into multiple sections which can be safely driven simultaneously, providing flexibility for different events and skill levels. The pit areas are dimensioned to accommodate approximately 300 cars, indicating the facility's capacity for large events. In addition to the main circuit, the Alastaro complex includes folkrace (jokamiesluokka) and drag racing tracks in the same area, as well as a nearly 3-kilometer motocross track. From 2015 to 2018, Alastaro served as a venue for races of the former Northern European Formula 4 Championship. The facility's significant expansion in 2023 has positioned it as one of Finland's premier motorsport venues, capable of hosting professional racing series and extensive testing programs.
