Tires: CRS
Weather: Hot AF
Setup changes:
- TC Design roll bar, 6pt harnesses, new seat setup
- Slightly stiffer front springs
- Replaced Vorshlag with GC plates
- New inner tie rods (confirmed cause of clunks)
- Coolant flush (70/30 mix with water wetter)
- More aggressive alignment (-4/-2.4) and corner balance
Big shakedown weekend of the half cage and a bunch of other stuff. Being harnessed down is very nice. I'm able to focus better on my inputs under braking. I don't think I'll want to seriously track a car without harnesses ever again. The new seat is also more aggressive which is a bonus. Only downside(?) of the new setup is I can't tilt my head down very easily to look at the catalyst.
Aside from the awful weather, the front suspension is making really loud noises. Tony confirmed that the springs are the issue with a quick diag in the paddock. I'm guessing it's the helper springs, and Joe thinks the noises are coming from the helpers as well. Gonna have to take the car back to shop before Sonoma in a few weeks.
Not much seat time for me since I didn't want to absolutely ruin fresh CRS in this heat. I still managed to put down a 2min lap which is cool I guess. Driving was sort of sloppy this weekend, but I still had a good time. Nice to hang out with the track fam after a long break.
