This is a lap on used Toyo R888R tyres as a reference / car setup assessment for one of my coaching customers. 

This car was newly built over the winter in preparation for the 2025 season. The engine fitted to this car did not look very strong during data analysis with my customer from the morning test sessions. I decided to drive the car and check it over myself during the afternoon session.

Although the lap time was good (making use of the slipstream from other cars) the engine was not good. Rolling road analysis after the event revealed a 6bhp deficit and so a new engine was fitted prior to the next championship round - which then resulted in the customer achieving a double podium finish!
