My second track day at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in the GT4 closes with a negligible improvement on my first outing.
I upgraded the ECU tune with a map from APR over the summer. While on an average day the increase in torque and power is very noticeable, the weather at the track was very hot on this day, with temperatures easily in excess of 100F that pretty much negated any power increase with respect to stock.
I chased without success a sub 2-minutes lap the whole day.
While during my previous track-day I found the car to be easy to turn-in and rotate, this time around I fought with bad understeering the whole day, probably due to the OE tires having reached the limit of their "usable" track-life. I tried to mitigate the issue by setting the front sway-bar to the soft position: while it did help, it was not nearly enough to make the car close to where I wanted it.
