Wolfpaq 2.0 (C7Z) was sold and replaced with a new 2022 C8 Z51 - aka 'WolfpaqC8'
WolfpaqC8 is bone stock on this track day, except for being lowered ¾” front and back on Paragon collars, a GM-spec track alignment, and GM brake ducts installed. Stock Michelin PS4S ZP (aka runflat) tires and Z51 brakes. The C8 has Z51, and Mag shocks with PTM. It was just broken in prior to this track day.
The conditions weren’t great: It rained overnight and very cold. Session 1 was very slow and delicate as it was 37 degrees and sprinkling on an already wet track. By Session 2, the track had mostly dried but, at 39 degrees, wasn’t optimal. I drove in PTM track/dry and managed a best (PDR) lap of 1:45.12. The Catalyst had me at 1:44.2 with slightly different trigger point on the track. Either way, I was happy with the performance, the predictability and the relative comfort of the C8 in her maiden track voyage.
The car has great turn in and balance. A little short of front end grip due in part to 245 width ‘street tires’ and partly due to the track conditions, but very predictable. I wasn’t pushing hard enough to find the limits of understeer, but was pleasantly surprised by the balance overall. I left the shifting to the computer on this session. Brakes were good, but I was getting some ABS intervention and judder. We’ll see if that improves on the next outing. Overall, I'm thrilled with 'WolfpaqC8'. It's another outstanding product from Team Corvette.
Next up, Goodyear Supercar 3R’s and a swap to Girodisc rotors and G-Loc R12 track pads.
