(Note: the time listed in the description is the official time recorded at the event. There is a discrepancy with the time displayed by my lap timer in the video. Fastest lap begins at 1:19)

We're back! It's been a weird season but I'm happy to say that we've figured stuff out. We had a great Gridlife kickoff at Gingerman, securing P3 at the Midwest Rev-Up, but were met with results that I would consider unacceptable at the next two events (Festival and Mid Ohio). I felt confident in my driving and consistency, but no matter what I did the pace just wasn't there. At Festival I found myself a full second slower than I had EVER run Gingerman, even including the first time I had ever driven the car. Needless to say this had me in a horrible mental state.

Well, we ended up figuring out what the issue was, and I'm frustrated that it took so long. About a week before Festival, the car suffered a rather violent off during a test day at Waterford Hills, hitting a curb bad enough to fully break a wheel. We had checked over everything following the incident, but what we failed to notice was that one (or more) of the spot welds on the shock tower had been damaged in the impact. Over the course of a couple months worth of events, the top of the tower had been opening up like a can, and while prepping the car ahead of this event I actually caught it due to light shining into the wheel well while the car was on a lift.

This entire journey, including the repair work, is detailed in this great video that Seb's Garage put together showcasing my car, it's worth your time if you'd like a closer look at what has gone into all of this in between events and off of the track! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cviiQT3TTjY

The important thing is that we got the car sorted out, I drove it nearly 12 hours to Lime Rock, and then I drove back with a 3rd place trophy! I felt like I clicked pretty well with this track. I had quite a bit of experience with it in simulators (extra thank you to https://www.youtube.com/@RossomeSauce1 for some useful insight and friendly sim competition!), but none of it could have prepared me for the physical sensation of fully attacking both Uphill and Downhill. I've never experienced anything quite like it, and I truly enjoyed driving here. It's frustrating that it's such a long trip because I know I'm going to have to go back...

This is my best lap from the weekend, from the early morning session on the second day. I believe this was around 2 tenths off of first, and I feel as though I could have made a legitimate run at it if I had been given a chance. Unfortunately our second session of the day was effectively cancelled due to a black flag, and during the final session the surface was just too cooked to find any more time. Keep an eye on https://www.youtube.com/@Sebs.garage_ for a video detailing the entire weekend, complete with some debrief videos I shot following my sessions.

Huge thank you to all of my supporters. Between help with setup, repairs, and encouragement I truly would not have made it here with you.

Next event is at Pitt Race in October. I'm feeling reinvigorated and looking forward to putting the Fit on that track for the first time!
