What a weekend!

The track was wet all morning Saturday with the sun coming out in the afternoon. We wanted to try a lap now that Sonoma was resurfaced. The first session in the video were my first laps ever in the car on the repaved surface. Unfortunately, we only got one hot lap before the catalytic converter overheating warning came on. You can actually see the GT3X gaining on the 765 significantly at the end of the hot lap on the front straight compared to the start of the lap, and also can see the predictive time going down at the end of the lap on the final straight. I tried doing a cool down hoping to let the catalytic converter sensor reset and went for one more lap, but ran into traffic and brought it in. The car has relatively minimal aero so it is a wild ride out there on a tight track like Sonoma. It has a balanced street alignment, but could gain a couple seconds with an aggressive track alignment. Such a blast to drive. Really appreciate my friends sharing their weekend with me.

Second session I took out my friend and owner of the 765 on Sunday in the morning. The track was grippier than Saturday and dry in the cooler morning. Would have been perfect to have tried for the hot lap in these conditions, but again we were having the catalytic converter overheating warning (we did go out immediately after her 20 minute session, so the catalytic converters and tires were already hot). This causes the car to lose about 100hp and about a little more than a second of lap time. Regardless, we stayed out and had fun in the advanced run group.

Hope it was a fun video to watch. It was a great memory for me. A very special car indeed! Big thanks to my friends and also Serge Track Days and Lightspeed for putting on a great event.

For those curious...Best actual laptime was a 1:35.75, rolling was a 1:35.33 due to the loss of power at the end of the lap. T/C was fully off on the hot lap and in dynamic mode for the passenger laps.
