Transponder time of 1:55.888. Difficulty is heat management when driving at this pace and in this weather, struggled with heat all of day 1 with the car even going into limp mode. Managed to secure third place with this time on the second last session of day 2. Going to 5W40 was probably a mistake as well as valve cover started seeping. Managing the heat of the engine is one thing but with a tire like the ECS02, you only get about a 1 lap window to set a real time. Amazing street tires but not meant to run a 20 minute lapping session at this pace.
Raymond's very lightly modified 2021 Honda FK8 Civic Type R:
- 265/35-18 Continental ECS02 on 18x9.5 +38 TE37SL
- PRL HVI intake
- Eibach pro kit springs
- Hardrace ball joint/control arm
- Girodisc rotors and Endless pads
STOCK shocks, downpipe, exhaust, tune
Had GTA rules been a bit more stringent he may have had a chance for 1st place, but both cars ahead had significant aero and power mods (N/A cars that were boosted). 1st place was a Z that makes over 600 whp, how that keeps with the spirit of Enthusiast class is beyond me. It may deter future participants as it's disheartening to see builds with tens of thousands of dollars in them competing in what is meant to be a more casual run group.
