This is a 1:24.1 practice lap at the Thunderhill East Short 1.9 mile course I set during the SCCA Racing School for the San Francisco Region in a SRF Gen2 car (chassis 065). The tires were about 30 minutes away from cording and had already seen at least 16 heat cycles. This car also apparently was down significantly on power. I was losing about 5-6 mph down the front straight vs. another Gen2 driven by my friend, who is a good driver and had similar apex speeds onto the straight. The next day I did a mid-1:22 in the same car but on less-old tires (but still used: around 8 heat cycles). I think with a better driver and brand new tires a low 1:19 is possible in this car. I am losing significant pace on the entry to Turn 1, and under braking into Turn 8 for sure.

I also had the opportunity to drive a Gen3 car the next day, also on very old tires and with a bad flat spot in the front, but I managed to do a high 1:19 in it during the race. Since it's the same driver, same track, same weekend, similar tire condition, and similar track conditions I'm estimating the Gen3 car is about 5 seconds faster than the Gen2 on this track.
