🕒 Personal Best of the Day: 1:20.89
Driver's Notes:
*Accidentally left on in-camera stabilization, which introduced micro-shakes. Also switched from using GoPro sound off of the rear tow hook for the exhaust to a proper lav mic taped to the rear bumper*
Finally got the 1:20 PB I was hoping for! I accidentally set my tire pressures too high in the morning, which led me to tokyo drift all the way through my first session, which was a total failure in terms of setting myself up for a quick lap while the track was still cold. But I was able to get my current PB of 1:20 on my first hot-lap during my second session. After the 2nd session, the track got hot and greasy, so my hopes to go sub-20 weren't realized this day. However, Garmin predicted a 1:20.04 optimal lap, which was totally do-able. 1:19's are within my grasp but I just need to dive without fear into turns 1 and 9A + 9B. I didn't realize it while I was driving, but I was FIGHTING during my PB lap. So much entry understeer and exit oversteer. Mostly from my lack of finesse, but I'm sure if I really took the time to dial in my damper settings I'd find a lot of time. However, I don't want to change too much, as I'm sure it would just confuse and frustrate my further this early in my driving development.
