My second best lap at VIMC so far. The fastest was a 1:21.7, and is the reference lap for this one, so you can compare them at the top. (Didn't get that one on camera, sadly!) The two laps were pretty similar; I lost a few tenths through the 4-5 back double apex, and then in the final chicane. (In both sections it was the same issue, braking just a touch too late, so not getting set up properly to carry as much speed as possible through the combinations.) Gained similar amounts elsewhere. Optimal lap is around a 1:21.4 now, but improvements are getting harder to come by!

The car is a 2006 Honda S2000 prepped for STR class autocross. (Basically suspension mods, intake, exhaust and tune.) For the track I also swap out the tires to a 100TW track tire (255/40/17). For the reference lap those were Nankang AR-1, and for this lap Maxxis RC-1 (R2 compound). The Maxxis are a lb lighter per tire, but the two tires seem to perform very similarly. Maybe an infinitesimal edge to the Maxxis in the dry.
