🚗💨 Hey everyone! Here’s my report on the 720S at Sebring!

Unfortunately, I ran into a McLaren starter issue, which limited me to just 4 laps for the day. In the first session, I started at the back of the field because I was late to grid—just my luck! After a couple of attempts, I decided to head back in.

After that first session, the car wouldn’t start (maybe it was due to heat soak or the starter going out), so we let it sit for a few hours, but it was still the same. We tried for a while, and as we were figuring out how to get the car back on the trailer, my friend gave it one last shot! Miraculously, it started! We were super grateful to avoid any pushing and rolled it right back onto the trailer.

When we checked the clock, we realized we had only 10 minutes left for our last session. So, we thought, why not roll it off the trailer for a couple more laps without shutting it off? And that’s exactly what we did—pretty hilarious, right?

In the video, you’ll see how the car performs. My first impression? The 720S is challenging to handle on the 200 tread wear street tires, even though they’re the hottest street tires available: the Vitour Tempesta P1. With all that power and speed, it’s definitely a handful! The lack of stopping power from the stock setup is something we’re not used to compared to our race cars, and both corner exit and throttle application are tricky due to the horsepower.
