It's been at least a year since I pushed myself to go for lap time, due to how busy instructing and recording the beginner students in the Audi Club class have been. My best time (2:15.87) was set back in Jan 2020, and the last few years I really haven't been focused on improving. So I decided to go out after the last classroom finished, just to see if I still "had it". Well, I'm very happy to be within 0.2 seconds of my best time, after having not driven hard for so long. I probably could have beaten it if I went 1-2 more laps, but it was the last session of the 2nd day after a tiring weekend, so I didn't want to push it.
Watching my speeds, I still chicken out at T1 (can definitely push it to 80 mph), T5 (max I did in my A4 was 42 mph), T8 (88-90 mph is great, but I think I can push 100), T9 (I used to get through it at 66 mph), and T10 (I'm getting better at it, but I think I can go faster and brake later).
This is exciting to think that if I had another session or two of focusing on improving, I probably could have bested my lap times!
