1.41.96 personal best from my second time running Laguna Seca in the E46M. (Down from a 1.43.0 last year on V730s and some puddles) This time with great weather and RE71RS! Still a few seconds off the F80s 1.38. Did seem the track was a little slow today for whatever reason. This was the very first hot lap of the last session.
Have a little more time to shave. Had a high 40 at the very tail end of session 5. Traffic sorta prevented me from possibly snagging it. Few buddies with aero E46's are doing ~38's. For non-aero and 3550lbs, fairly happy with this time. Still my Norcal track with the least amount of seat time. Would have loved a 40 but we will leave that for the next Laguna event :)
-Turn 2: Cut the corner too sharp. Just wasn't my normal line. Optimal agrees.
-Turn 8: Brake and Downshift properly... fml
-Turn 8a-9: Try and maintenance throttle an extra 20%
-Turn 10: Could maybe track in/out a tad more on curbing
I bought 2 sets of Project Mu H21 brake pads for a price I couldnt refuse. However, they are not great. First used them on the F80 and thought they were lacking end-of-pedal bite. Figured it was the weight and power. Tried my other set today on the E46 and experienced that exact same thing. Had a real hard time trusting that the bite and braking power was going to be there at the end of the pedal travel. Was an issue all day on turn 2, corkscrew, and turn 11.
5/10 rating. Never faded or failed to work. Just the effectiveness of bite wasnt there for my preference. Don't recommend.
Had a few shifting mishaps on this lap to. Not the cleanest... Going into the corkscrew, borked my downshift by accident focusing too much on braking.
