This was our second event in our shop LS550 Mustang we call Trigger using the twin 90mm throttle body / CID intake on our HPR 454" LS7. With all of the bugs worked out, and the plenum completely rebuilt at the shop, the car had ZERO issues and was much improved over the SCCA TT event we tested the new setup at a week before. 

This was the hottest Time Attack event of 2024 with temps touching 104F at the end of the day, but luckily we set our best lap in the second session when it was only 90F, and the car was loaded up and gone by 1 pm. Everything just WORKED this time, thanks to the tuning help of Billy at Rapscallion Motorsports the weekend before during the SCCA TT event. Not a thing to complain about on the car - just flawless. The driving could be better, of course, but that's normal! 

Previous Personal Best at this track was in April with a 1:58.5, and the first session was off with a couple of fliers at 1:57.7 and 1:57.09, with ambient temps of only 82F. That was probably the best session but I had way too much pressure in the 4 weekend old Hoosier A7 tires, so I vowed to go out one more time. Funny enough, that first session was enough to secure the win and FTD, but we never settle! 

Session 2 was at 10:25 am and 90F ambient, and the driving was "less bad" on the first lap, and with pressures dialed in a 1:56.4 lap was possible. That secured the class win and overall Top Time by almost 2 seconds. Just can't ask for more than that for a heavy car with strut suspension and old tires. tires. So happy to have won our 8th Time Attack event of 2024 - with more to go!

All that hard work paid off with a big class win, and yet another "Fastest Time of the Day" achievement. WOO!
