Stock GR86/BRZ (ZN8/ZD8) PB at Ridge 1:58.79 (Stock record?)

First time at Ridge with the GR86. Temperatures were crazy high. Was impossible to run consistent lap times at all. The tires can hook up for a lap before it becomes super loose and slimey. I was surprised to do sub 2 minute, with an optimal of a 58.2. Going this quick in the stock car gives me the urge to throw some suspension and tires very soon.

The lap was messy, grabbing a draft from my friend in the front straight did get me a peak top speed of 207 kmh. However, I completely blew T1-T4. The whole lap was really messy and a lot of work to maximize everything from the tires. If the temps were way lower for the operating temp of the PS4, I think the car is capable of doing a 1:57 stock. Unfortunately I still have really bad habits and “no mechanical sympathy” while shifting from 2nd to 3rd. I’m not sure how much abuse the stock car can take being thrashed on track. I’d really like to try again when temperatures are not as high. 

Organization of this track day was fair, but not great. There was hardly anything enforced and a lot of yellow flags from people overdriving their vehicles. We lost the last session of the day due to a vehicle in the trees at T2, was told we would get back out there and an additional few minutes, but was finished almost immediately. Half of the sessions of the day had cars requiring a tow. Although relatively cheap entry, I do not think I will be participating in future events with this organizer. Still had fun, but could be better.
