Ride along for some event highlights and a new SCCA DSP track record (with data overlay) at the Summit Point Jefferson Circuit in the #512 Mazda RX-8 in October 2020. 

A big improvement for this weekend's recap is the use of a new external microphone, the Olympus ME51SW, inside of a wind muff / dead cat, mounted above the rear muffler just below the trunk and behind the rear fender well. Let me know what you think of the new sound!

This event was run by The Steel Cities Region SCCA and the Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association (aka PA Hillclimb, PHA) as a level 3 time trial event. This event differs from traditional time attack in that the lap begins with a standing start, just like a hillclimb. This gives you (and your tires!) no time to "warm-up"; you must be fast and focused right off the line. This style of an event may also be referred to as trackcross, sprint, circuit sprint, circuitcross, or time trial, similar to the old SCCA Solo-I.

The previous track record of 80.194 was reset to 79.327.
