Thermal Club GT Circuit
Thermal Club GT Circuit Notes:
The Thermal Club is an exclusive private community of super-wealthy racing enthusiasts and high-performance car collectors who decided to build luxurious Villas right in the middle of a world-class motorsports complex. The 400-Acre walled village has a private airport, four road course configurations, high-end villas with stunning track views, an engineering center, a tire center, a fueling station, and a temperature-controlled vault to store members' vehicles and keep them ready to hit the asphalt anytime. This dream playground for motorsports fans is 30 minutes south of Palms Springs, in Thermal, California, in the middle of the Coachella Valley, with 350 days of sunshine a year on average.
Tim and Twanna Rogers, owners of the club, hired the famous South African race track architect Alan Wilson to design a top-notch racing complex where drivers can feel they're getting the most out of their sports cars and taking them to the limits keeping them safe at the same time. There are four circuits available for racing at the Thermal Club: the 2-mile (3.21-km) South Palm layout, the 3-mile (4.82-km) Twin Palms layout, the 4-mile (6.43-km) GT Circuit, and the 2.5-mile (4.02-km) North+Desert layout. The track surface is smooth and specially prepared for the scorching temperatures of the desert climate. Racing at any circuit of the Thermal Club is a real challenge for the drivers' abilities as turns, elevation changes, and acceleration sectors feel a lot faster than they are in reality.
GT Circuit Notes:
The GT Circuit configuration at Thermal Club in California's Coachella Valley delivers a specific layout optimized for GT-style sports cars at this exclusive private racing facility near Palm Springs. The GT Circuit designation indicates corner geometry and characteristics suited for grand touring vehicle dynamics, creating a variant distinct from other Thermal Club courses like the North or Desert circuits. This configuration serves members driving high-performance GT cars seeking appropriate technical challenges.
Operating the GT Circuit showcases Thermal Club's diverse infrastructure where multiple purpose-built courses serve varied vehicle types across the exclusive membership base. Coachella Valley's extreme desert climate creates challenging summer conditions with track temperatures exceeding 65C during afternoon sessions, while winter months provide ideal racing weather. The GT Circuit configuration provides optimized layout for members' Ferrari, Porsche, and McLaren GT cars, enhancing the value proposition for the private club where layout variety and vehicle-specific optimization distinguish the facility from public track day venues.
