Yaris XP150
The Toyota Yaris XP150, produced from 2011 to 2020 as third generation, represents subcompact hatchback developed specifically for emerging markets as counterpart to XP150 series Vios sedan. The XP150 made public debut at 15th Auto Shanghai in April 2013, offering multiple engine options including 1.2-liter 3NR-FE producing 91 horsepower, 1.3-liter 1NR-FE producing 98-99 horsepower, and 1.5-liter engines (1NZ-FE and 2NR-FE introduced in 2016) producing 107 horsepower. Transmission options evolved throughout production with manual transmissions and traditional automatic replaced by continuously variable transmission CVT in 2016 update. First facelift received in Thailand on September 14, 2017, with dimensions increased 30mm in length and width.
Second facelift introduced in August 2020 featured updated front bumper design and LED dual lenses improving modern appearance. The XP150 generation focuses on practical transportation delivering fuel efficiency, reliability, and affordable ownership costs characteristic of Toyota subcompact vehicles. While not performance-focused, the Yaris XP150 offers dependable daily transportation with comprehensive equipment, compact dimensions suitable for urban environments, and Toyota reputation for quality and long-term durability. The combination of efficient engine options, available CVT transmission for improved fuel economy, practical hatchback body style, and Toyota engineering excellence makes the Yaris XP150 popular choice among consumers seeking economical and reliable transportation in emerging markets.
