Day 1: First lap out on #wgi ever. After the initial warm up lap it was time to start the session. Everything was going great till the braking zone for t8 when I hear a metal clink sound and the back end comes out and I end up in the run off and finally spin. Instructor didn't even know what happened. I get back to the paddock and find out my trans fill bolt backed out. It takes me the whole day to find a new one and get the car going again. Just in time for the last session of the day. Although an incident happened the session before mine causing us to only get about 3 laps or so.

Day 2: First 2 sessions were great, finally getting to learn the track giving pt bys left and right with everyone having done a full day. I get solo'd at lunch and after some recommendations started playing with some coilover knobs. After lunch the sky darkens and it starts to drizzle and rain again. The risk was not worth it and I called it.

Day 3: The rain at Watkins continued well into lunch. By this time a couple of the guys and I changed to the all seasons/summer tires and cruised the track in the rain and accepted the fact that it was going to be like this the whole day. At least I would be half way done packing then. 😬. As luck would have it the clouds were blown away and the sun shined bright, drying the track enough to warrant switching back to r-comps. However, I was content with my all sessions. That is until the #ai003 group got together and helped us swap wheels and tires is a flash. At the end of day 3 I had 2 good sessions with some friends on track despite hitting traffic and people with no situational awareness.

The little car and trailer that could made the 4 hour trip up to Watkins Glen and back without anything broken and that's quite all right with me!

1 way to WGI
322miles traveled
7/8th of a tank used
With aero and towing a trailer

And I still got 29mpg!
