Had a sick day driving this Radical SR3 around Bushy park back in August ‘22. It’s a 600kg, 200hp, high downforce racecar. It’s powered by a suzuki 1300cc 4cyl bike engine and has serious aero.
It was a very hot day at the height of the Barbados summer and I was definitely feeling it in the racesuit 😂. They were running hards that day but it didn’t take long to get them up to temp. I did the advanced package which included 4 passenger laps, 4 supervised laps and then 6 flat-out laps on my own. I was coached by Justin Maloney who also competes in the Radical Caribbean cup series in the 1500cc monsters. Top bloke.
The car was great fun to drive. I always love driving cars with downforce, it’s a strange feeling getting more grip the faster you go. It didn’t feel massively quick in a straight line however It did scream at the top end and made one hell of a noise. The brakes were probably my favourite part of the car though. I’ve never experienced anything that stops as fast as that did, the g force even jolts the GoPro around 0:16. My neck definitely felt it for the next few days 🤕. In the end, I managed to squeeze out a 1:04.859 on my last lap of the day, beating my previous fastest lap by around 3 tenths.
Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching 👊🏽
