Ride along for two fast laps in a Time Attack Mazda RX-8 at the July 2018 NASA Great Lakes event at PittRace Full circuit during a Time Trial (TT) session. NASA TT is a time-attack style event where the best lap time of the day is counted.
Saturday best lap was a 1:59:550, which beat the old TTD track record set by a Subaru BRZ.
Sunday i bumped up to TT5 due to the larger class, and with no changes to the car was able to run a new unofficial lap record time of 1:59:343. Unfortunately we only got 4 laps, so the tires never really got to operating temperature and i feel like there are still a few tenths left on the table.
Data was captured with an android phone running RaceChrono and an external Garmin Glo 10Hz GPS. The video and telemetry data was merged using Dashware. However, the start/finish line was programmed wrong, so the lap times shown on my telemetry do not match the official times.
