Watkins Glen is one of the all-time legendary tracks in the USA! It's fun, but also scary with those ever-present baby blue walls. This course "has it all" and should be on anyone's list of great tracks to drive. We drove the road course configuration that included the lower "boot" section, which--in my opinion--is the most fun part of the layout!
This was my 3rd visit to The Glen, so I was much more comfortable with the layout and line. I'm still far from an expert, but I managed to shave 3+ seconds off of my time from 2021. Woo hoo! For this trip, I drove my 991.2 GT3, which was well-suited to this circuit.
While you're in upstate New York, be sure to take a few extra days to enjoy the picturesque Finger Lakes Region. If you're a fan of wineries, cideries and breweries, there are over 50 just in the area around Lake Seneca. There's also Watkins Glen State Park, as well as beautiful hiking trails and waterfalls. So spend some extra time to explore the area, if your schedule allows.
