Vmax 259km/h GPS speed. 10hz porsche track app 📊 data.

A few weeks ago I said: Sub3 is the goal.
Call me Pressure Man — that’s how I work.

This was my 3rd visit to Gotland Ring in the 992 GT3 RS. (Sama as in 992 GT3)
Every lap I’ve ever done here in 992 RS — Apr 19, 25–26, and May 16–17 — has been on stock Cup2s.
Even up until late on May 17, I was still running Cup2.
Only the very last lap of the final session that day was on Trofeo RS — just one lap.

I don’t just jump in early and lap endlessly.
On the 17th, I slept in, had lunch, and didn’t drive until the afternoon.
I’m not the type to “feel the air” and guess gears. I do a few laps, check data, adjust.

And my go-to tool?
Porsche Track Precision App.
This thing is gold. Real-time OBD data, 10 Hz, right to my phone.
No laptops, no memory cards.
After a lap, still strapped in, I’ve got throttle, brake, gear, line — everything.
It’s what’s helped me find pace.
Can’t believe more people don’t use it.

But of course — when it really mattered, things got tricky.
The app, which has worked flawlessly for years, suddenly didn’t hook up.
So I spent 3 - 4 laps at 3:14–3:15 pace just trying to get it going. prior to that, 2-3 to heat the Pirellis then put the right pressure.
Slow laps, sitting in the car, staying calm, waiting for a signal...
Tough mentally. Probably just bad luck. I just got 30min left, clock is ticking...

Then finally — it connects.
I hit record. One shot. Had 10min left after I did my push lap, wanted to GO 1-2 more laps...but track app did freeze again ....me mad...:-( .....nothing to do...That was the end.

2:58.89. ONE PUSH LAP. FULL DATA.

Under the circumstances — I’m proud.
After three Gotland trips on Cup2, I’m starting to really understand the tire.
Getting closer with pressures, finding its window.

But Trofeo RS? That’s a whole other level.
Motorsport grip. Hard structure.
The way it talks to you — the bite — it feels like you’re racing.
But with only one lap, you leave a lot on the table.
The plan was 2–3 push laps to get into it — but it didn’t happen.

Still — that one lap showed the potential. Love that Trofeo RS :-)

—

And this GT3 RS?
Incredible.
100% stock. No Weissach. No Magnesium Wheels, No ceramics. No extra Aerokit, No fancy race pad/line/fluid upgrades.
It just works — consistently, bone stock.
Hardly any tire wear. I’ve still got tread left on the Cup2:s
The car is not the limit — I am.

Huge thanks to Jörg Bergmeister & Andy Preuninger & the people who make these, wow the 992 GT3 RS, what a car. Perfect for a track - nerd like me.
What a machine.

Stayed for May 18 to chase Koenisegg Jesko’s 2:56.97 (Cup2 R, factory driver). Went up to the track to smash that Egg lap on 18 may….
But Gotland hit back: winds, heavy rain. Could not lap fast in that rain…My data say I could easy pull a 2.56+ lap in RS + Trofeo RS..
Jesko had the lucky window.

Shoutout to GRC – Gentlemen’s Racing Club
Erik & the crew = self-playing piano.
Flawless event. Year after year. Hallelujah. 🙌

Also big thanks to
Dick, Roger, Martin Ehrsson, Bärne Brant a.k.a. Subaru-Micke — legends.
Thanks for helping with wheels & tires.
Haven’t wrenched since the ’90s BMW Club days — nice to just sit and brake while you guys torqued 600 Nm.
Strong hands, sharp minds. Tusen tack, grabbar! 🙏
And Thanks Leo & Alec, top track!!
